Ojos del Salado volcano also called the highest volcano in the world, is located in the Atacama Desert, around 900 km. north of Santiago, near Copiapo City in Chile. This impressive volcano located in the hearth of high plateau (altiplano) is surrounding by salt lakes and many of others big mountains and other volcanoes. This is the second highest mountain outside Asia. It is composed of many colors in a full isolation of large cities.
This is a extreme and demanding expedition, due we reached a altitude of 6,980m above sea level. The climate have many contrast, from warm days to extreme cold at night. We must be in very good shape to walk properly at high altitude in a rocky path, hard snow specially on summit day.

- Flight Santiago – Copiapo – Santiago
Day 1.- Arrival to Santiago
Pick up you at the Santiago airport then private transfer to hotel in Santiago. Our guide will check personal mountain equipment.
Day 2.- Fly to Copiapo
After the breakfast pick up you at your hotel, transfer to airport fly to Copiapo. Arrival copiapo transfer to your hotel.
Day 3.- Copiapo – Santa Rosa Lake
In the morning transfer from copiapo to santa rosa lake
Day 4.- Santa Rosa Lake – Green Lake
Today we will leave form Santa Rosa to Green Lake 4200m. camp near the thermal baths, an ideal place to take a soak and enjoy the landscape surrounded with mountains.
Day 5.- Green Lake
Acclimatization day, walk around this beautiful lake
Day 6.- Green Lake – Mulas Muertas Hill
Leaving early we will reach 5,895 at the summit of the mulas muertas this way we continue our acclimatization; after this effort, in the afternoon we will rest in base camp at Green Lake.
Day 7.- Green Lake – Refuge Atacama
We will leave around mid morning heading for Refuge Atacama 5200m, where we will install our camp, and gradually we will get ready for the day when we will attempt the summit.
Day 8.- Refuge Atacama
During this day, we will transfer part of our equipment to Refuge Tejos at 5800m, approximately 4 hours of walk and in the afternoon we return to our camp.
Day 9.- Refuge Atacama – Refuge Tejos 5,800m.
Today we will leave at mid morning with the rest of our equipment and necessary staff for the day when we ascent to the summit. Tejos will be the place where we spend the night at 5800m, the wind is stronger and the temperature drops quickly as the sun sets.
Day 10.- Refuge Tejos – Summit of Ojos del Salado
Climb Ojos del Salado Volcano through north route path. Probably use of crampons depending of snow conditions. Once into the crater we use a rope to climb safe last 40 meters until top of Ojos del Salado volcano. Back to Tejos camp. If group are in well conditions we also can walk down until Atacama camp. Dinner.
Day 11.- Extra day
Extra Ojos del Salado summit day in case of bad wheater of get better acclimatization.
Day 12.- Refuge Atacama – Copiapo
On board our vehicle we will descend until the city of Copiapó to settle in the hotel.
Day 13.- Copiapo – Santiago
Day 14.- Santiago Flight Back at home
