Llanganuco Tours

Nevado Pisco & Chopicalqui Mount Climbing Expeditions

Overview

The main objectives are climbing Pisco west (5752m.) and Chopicalqui (6354m.) both mountains are in the Llanganuco Valley, Cordillera Blanca.

Nevado Pisco is a very straightforward an achievable climb, the most of the way is not steep and not technical. There sometimes can be short. This climb provides a great experience and improves the acclimatization as preparation for the final goal Chopicalqui.

Chopicalqui Mount is a bit harder than Pisco in technical difficulty. Chopicalqui is a mountain located beside Peru’s highest mountain, Huascaran 6768m. Chopicalqui as one of the nearly highest peaks in Peru offers a remarkable ascent height and requires a great deal of technical ability. To climb Chopicalqui it is necessary to be in excellent physical conditions and have experience on climbing on snow and using ice axe, crampons and ropes.

Donkeys will support the climbing group to Camp base of Pisco, and base camp on Chopicalqui, and from there, porters will assist our group

Our Pisco and Chopicalqui climbing is lead by Peruvian Mountain Guides UIAGM who bring with them years of climbing experience on mountains all over the Peru and South America

Thanks for choosing Llanganuco Tours!
